FUNATO Direct Entry Applicants Told to Submit A-Level Results

The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO) has asked Direct Entry applicants for the 2026/2027 session to send their final A-Level results to the Office of the Registrar, with Friday, 23 October 2026 as the deadline. According to reports, the results are needed to verify the documents and continue processing the applicants' Direct Entry admission.

The instruction appears in a notice circulating online and reproduced by news sites. It has not been seen on an official FUNATO page or on JAMB's channels, so the details below rest on those reports.

What the university is asking for

Each applicant is to email a scanned copy of the original A-Level result or certificate. The scan must be clear and saved in PDF format.

The email is to go to registrar@funato.edu.ng, and the body of the message must carry four details about the candidate:

  • Full name
  • Application number
  • Preferred department
  • Phone number

The notice adds that any Direct Entry applicant who does not comply will have the admission application left unprocessed.

Who the notice covers

The group named in the reports is candidates seeking admission through A-Level, JUPEB or IJMB. The published notice is not consistent on this point: it refers both to “affected candidates” and to “offered candidates”, so the wording alone does not settle whether every Direct Entry applicant must respond or only those already offered admission. The other reports describe it as all A-Level, JUPEB and IJMB Direct Entry applicants.

Deadline for submission

Results are expected immediately, and in any case not later than Friday, 23 October 2026. The date applies only to this request for final A-Level results.

A separate deadline from screening

FUNATO's 2026/2027 UTME and Direct Entry screening application ran from Monday 15 June 2026 to Monday 31 August 2026, and no extension was promised. Direct Entry applicants were also required to have obtained the JAMB Direct Entry form, to have chosen FUNATO as first choice, and to have had transcripts sent to the Registrar by 31 August 2026.

That makes the two dates different in purpose. The 31 August 2026 deadline covered screening registration and transcripts. The 23 October 2026 deadline covers the final A-Level results now being requested.

Other entry conditions for the session

  • UTME candidates needed a minimum score of 150 in the 2026 UTME and FUNATO as their chosen or changed institution.
  • Applicants needed at least five O'Level credit passes in one sitting, or six across two sittings, in relevant subjects.
  • Candidates had to be 16 years old on or before 30 September 2026.
  • Candidates whose UTME subject combination was wrong were to correct it on JAMB CAPS before registering on the FUNATO portal.

Applicants should confirm the current position with FUNATO and with JAMB, since the notice has not been published by either body.

What candidates should do

There is no stated grace period, so the sensible move is to send the result now rather than close to the deadline.

  • Scan the original result or certificate clearly and save it as a PDF.
  • Address the email to registrar@funato.edu.ng and attach the PDF.
  • Type the full name, application number, preferred department and phone number in the body of the email.
  • Send before Friday, 23 October 2026.
  • If it is unclear whether the notice applies to you, write to the same address and ask the Registrar's office directly.
