The State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS), Igbo-Eno, Enugu State, has opened a supplementary undergraduate admission exercise for the 2026/2027 session. The exercise is open to candidates who sat the 2026 JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored 150 or above.
Who the exercise is forThe notice names two groups of candidates.
- Those who put SUMAS as their first choice but were not admitted into the course they wanted.
- Those who did not pick SUMAS at all but are willing to move their first choice to the university.
The second group must change their first-choice institution to SUMAS in JAMB CAPS, the portal where admission decisions are handled, and also select one of the supplementary courses as first choice.
The programmes on the listThe exercise is said to cover 19 programmes spread across six faculties.
- Engineering and Built Environment: B.Sc. Architecture; B.Eng. Biomedical Engineering; B.Eng. Chemical Engineering; B.Eng. Computer Engineering; B.Eng. Civil Engineering; B.Eng. Electrical and Electronics Engineering; B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering.
- Allied Health Sciences: B.Sc. Health Administration and Hospital Management; B.Sc. Prosthetics and Orthotics.

The university's Post-UTME page lists a different set of programmes, including Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Public Health, Human Anatomy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics. It is therefore not clear whether those clinical and medical courses form part of the supplementary list.
Candidates who want any of them should confirm directly with the university before changing their JAMB choice.
Fee and application windowThe Post-UTME application fee is ₦2,000, and the payment narration must be the applicant's JAMB registration number. The Post-UTME application window runs from Monday 22 June 2026 to 31 July 2026.
The supplementary announcement does not carry a separate closing date. Some reports of the supplementary exercise are dated October 2026, which suggests the window may not follow the Post-UTME dates. Candidates should confirm the current deadline with the university before starting an application.
Candidates who have already applied for the SUMAS Post-UTME do not need to apply again.
Direct Entry and transfer applicantsDirect Entry candidates and inter-university transfer applicants follow the same procedure. They must pick the appropriate admission category when filling the form.
About the universitySUMAS is an Enugu State-owned university at Igbo-Eno, along the Ninth Mile–Obollo-Afor expressway in the Nsukka area. According to reports, the National Universities Commission granted full accreditation to 15 of its programmes in late 2025.

What candidates should do
Anyone who has already submitted a SUMAS Post-UTME application should not fill the form a second time. A change of course, or a change of first-choice institution through JAMB CAPS, is what the situation requires.
Before finalising any choice, check the O'Level subject requirements and the UTME subject combination for the programme. A candidate whose subjects do not match will not be considered, however high the UTME score.
Where the programme list is unclear, especially for the clinical and medical courses, call the university on 08067390088 before paying or travelling to a CBT centre.
