Now let's talk about what happens after the screening exercise, how to actually confirm you got admitted, and the acceptance fee payment process that you absolutely cannot miss. This isn't one of those things you can play with. Miss the acceptance fee deadline and your admission is gone, simple. No amount of begging will bring it back.

Where Do You Actually Check If You've Been Admitted?
Here's what many people don't realize: you need to check TWO places, not just one. And there's an order to this thing.
First: JAMB CAPS (This One is the Real Deal)
JAMB CAPS is where your admission becomes official. The school can put your name on their portal, but if JAMB hasn't approved it, you're not truly admitted. That's just how federal universities work.

Here's how to check:
- Go to the JAMB e-facility portal at
efacility.jamb.gov.ng - Log in with your JAMB registration number and password (the same one you used during registration, hope you didn't forget it)
- Look for "Check Admission Status" on your dashboard, then click "Access my CAPS"
- Navigate to the "Admission Status" section
Now, this is where it gets real. If you see "CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE BEEN OFFERED PROVISIONAL ADMISSION," don't just screenshot and start celebrating yet. You need to click that "ACCEPT ADMISSION" button immediately. I'm not joking, do it right there. Some people have lost their admission because they thought accepting could wait. In short, your admission will expire after two weeks, if you don't accept it within the timeframe, you will soon accuse your village people.
If you don't see any admission message, relax. UNIUYO releases admission lists in batches, so your name might appear in the second or third batch. Just keep checking back every few days. You know that national Ranking always matter so that makes the process turn by turn.
After you accept on CAPS, print out two important documents:
- Your official JAMB Admission Letter
- Your original JAMB result slip
Keep these safe, you'll need them during physical screening. Don't be like those people who lose documents and start running around looking for printers on screening day.
Second step: UNIUYO Portal (Double Confirmation)
You should also confirm directly on the school's website. Sometimes the UNIUYO portal updates before JAMB, sometimes it's the other way around. Just check both to be sure, and also to calm your blood.
- Visit the UNIUYO e-portals (usually at
uniuyo.edu.ng/iportalsor check the main university website for the current link this one here is not opening. - Look for "Admission Status" or "Check Status" under the student section
- Enter your JAMB registration number or whatever registration number you used for the Post-UTME
- If admitted, you'll see your admission notification
Print this notification too. Yes, another document to keep safe. University is full of document printing, you'll get used to it.
The Acceptance Fee: Don't Play With This One
Okay, you've confirmed you're admitted. Congratulations! But you're not done yet. The acceptance fee is what separates "I got admitted" from "I'm actually a student of this school."
How Much is UNIUYO Acceptance fee?
The acceptance fee has been around N30,000 for most UTME and Direct Entry candidates in recent sessions. But here's the thing, this amount can change, so you need to confirm the exact figure from the official UNIUYO notice board or portal when you're ready to pay.
This money is non-refundable, by the way. Once you pay, that's it. Whether you later change your mind about UNIUYO or get admission somewhere else, you're not getting it back. So be sure about your decision before you pay. That 30k is like bride-price to the school management, without it, no marriage for you.

How to Pay (Step-by-Step)
The payment process is straightforward if you follow it properly:
Step 1: Go back to the UNIUYO e-portals at uniuyo.edu.ng/eportals
Step 2: Find the link that says "Pay Acceptance Fee" or "Pay Registration Fee." Click it.
Step 3: Enter your JAMB registration number and hit the "Pay" or "Generate Invoice" button.
Step 4: The system will generate your RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) code. This is basically your unique payment reference number. Write it down or screenshot it.
Step 5: Now you have two payment options:
Option A (Pay Online): If you have your ATM card or internet banking, you can pay directly on the portal through Remita. Just follow the prompts, enter your card details, and authorize the payment. Make sure you're on a secure network before you start entering card information.
Option B (Pay at the Bank): Print out the invoice with your RRR code and take it to any commercial bank. GTBank, UBA, First Bank, Access, Zenith, any of them. Just tell them you want to pay with RRR. The bank teller knows what to do.
Step 6: After payment (whether online or at the bank), go back to the portal. There should be an option to "Print e-receipt" or "Print Invoice." Click it and print your official UNIUYO payment receipt.
Keep this receipt like your life depends on it, because during screening, it literally does. No receipt, no registration. It's that simple.
The Deadline Thing
UNIUYO will announce a deadline for acceptance fee payment. This is not a suggestion, it's a hard deadline. If you miss it, your admission gets forfeited, and they'll offer your spot to someone on the waiting list who actually wants it.
I've seen people lose admission because they thought they had time or they were waiting for money from someone. Don't let that be you. If you need to borrow money, sell something, or do whatever legal thing you need to do to raise that acceptance fee, do it before the deadline. First-first, remit this to them. This is your corner stone don't play with.
What Happens After Payment? Physical Screening
After you've paid the acceptance fee, the next phase is physical screening and registration. This is when you actually show up on campus with all your documents.
UNIUYO Screening requirements: Documents You Must Bring:
The original copies and photocopies (bring like 5 photocopies of each to be safe):
- JAMB Admission Letter (the one you printed from CAPS)
- Original JAMB result slip
- UNIUYO Acceptance Fee Receipt (the one you just printed)
- Your admission status notification from UNIUYO portal
- Your O'Level results, WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB (some people have two sittings, bring both)
- Birth certificate or age declaration
- Local government identification letter (your LGA chairman needs to sign this) or certificate of origin.
- Letter of recommendation.
If you're a Direct Entry or JUPEB candidate, add these to the list:
- Your A-Level certificate
- OND or HND certificate (if that's your qualification)
- JUPEB statement of result or certificate
The university will tell you when to come for screening and which faculty or department to report to. Just follow the instructions, arrive early (Nigerian time doesn't work for this), and have all your documents arranged in a folder so you're not fumbling around.
