What Is This App?
This is a CBT (Computer-Based Test) practice app built specifically for Nigerian nursing students preparing for their NMCN licensing exams. It works just like the real exam — you read a question, pick an answer, and get instant feedback. The more you use it, the more confident and prepared you will be on exam day.
Users who score better on our system usually perform better in the main exam. The in-built smart performance tracker and analysis shows you your timing (speed), your weak points, strength and recommendation on your next approach.
Hint: Ensure you have master the system to the extent of answering 100 questions under one hour. Even the most brilliant students can fail there's no proper time management.
You do not need to install anything. Just open the link in your phone or laptop browser and you are ready to go. However, your can download our mobile app for offline use.
Tips: Download the courses so you can always practice with or without internet connection. Example, if your network is bad and you manage to land on our website, you would still be able to use the system even though your network completely goes off. Get started free
Before You Start — Activate Your Account
When you first open the app, you will see a yellow notice at the top of the screen. This means you are currently on Guest Access, which lets you practice only 10 questions per course as a free preview.
To unlock all questions and all features:
- Tap the "Activate Full Access" button shown in the yellow notice
- You will be taken to the activation page
- Follow the instructions there to get your access code
- Once activated, your name will appear at the top of the app with a green tick ✓ — that means you are fully unlocked
Note: Even as a guest, you can still explore the app and try a few questions to see how it works before activating.
The Home Screen (Main Menu)
When the app opens, you will land on the Main Menu. This is your starting point for everything. At the top you will see:
- Your name and access status (green = full access, yellow = guest)
- Four buttons: Main, History, Favourites, and Downloads
In the middle of the screen is a blue banner — this is just a welcome display. Below it is the control panel where you set up your practice session.

How to Start a Practice Session
Follow these steps every time you want to practise:
Step 1 — Choose Your Course
You can either choose to practice past questions or practice questions. Past questions are questions complied from previous years examinations while practice questions are likely questions for evaluating your understanding of a particular course.
Click or tap the first dropdown box that says "Choose a course…"
You will see a list of course categories or years (for example: Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Health, Pharmacology, etc.) or 2026 past questions. Tap the one you want to study.
Step 2 — Choose Your Material
After picking a course, a second dropdown box will appear saying "Choose a material…"
This shows the specific past questions or topic materials available under that course. Tap the one you want.
Once you select a material, a blue box will appear showing the name of what you selected — this confirms your choice.
Step 3 — Choose Your Mode
You will see a dropdown that says Mode. There are two options:
Study Mode — Best for learning. After you pick an answer, the app immediately tells you if you are right or wrong and shows you an explanation. Use this when you are still reading and trying to understand topics.
Exam Mode — Best for testing yourself. It works like the real NMCN exam — a countdown timer runs, no explanations are shown until the end, and you must submit before time runs out. Use this when you want to simulate real exam conditions.
Step 4 — Shuffle Settings (Full Access Only)
If you have full access, you will see two tick boxes:
- Shuffle Questions — This mixes up the order of questions so you do not memorise by position
- Shuffle Options — This rearranges the answer choices (A, B, C, D) so you practise thinking, not guessing by pattern
These are highly recommended for serious preparation. The app is designed so that even when options are shuffled, the correct answer always follows the right option — nothing is ever marked wrong by mistake.
Guest users will see these options greyed out. Activate your account to unlock them.
Step 5 — Set a Time Limit (Exam Mode Only)
If you chose Exam Mode, a new dropdown will appear asking you to pick a time limit. Options range from 30 minutes to 3 hours. Choose based on how many questions are in the material or how much time you want to give yourself.
Tip: our practice system is also available on desktop computer or laptop. If you are a type of students that can't control a computer mouse comfortably, this could affect your timing during the main NMCN CBT exam. So to avoid this costly mistake, get a desktop computer or laptop with external mouse, visit our website and login to your the practice interface. This will help you master how to control the mouse and move it promptly.
Step 6 — Tap "Begin Session"
Once everything is set, the blue "Begin Session" button at the bottom will become active. Tap it and your practice session will begin immediately.
During Your Practice Session
Reading and Answering Questions
Each question appears on its own card. Read it carefully, then tap one of the four options (A, B, C, or D) to select your answer.
- In Study Mode, the app will immediately highlight your answer — green if correct, red if wrong — and show an explanation below the question. Read the explanation carefully, even when you get it right.
- In Exam Mode, your selected answer will simply be highlighted in blue. No feedback is given until you submit.
Moving Between Questions
Use the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom of the screen to go back and forward between questions.
On the right side of the screen (or at the bottom on mobile), you will see a grid of numbered boxes — one for each question. Each box shows you at a glance:
- Blue filled = the question you are currently on
- Blue outlined = a question you have already answered
- Plain white = a question you have not yet answered
Tap any numbered box to jump directly to that question.
Saving a Question to Favourites
If you come across a question you want to revisit later, tap the Save button at the top right of the question card. It will turn gold, meaning the question has been saved to your Favourites list. You can review all saved questions anytime from the main menu.
Keeping Track of Time (Exam Mode)
In Exam Mode, you will see a timer in the top right corner of the screen counting down. When 25% of your time is left, it turns yellow. When only 10% is left, it turns red and you will get a warning. If the timer reaches zero, the exam is automatically submitted for you.
The Question Navigator (Mobile)
On a phone, tap the middle button in the bottom bar (it shows something like "Q 5 / 40") to open the Question Navigator. This shows you a full grid of all questions, how many you have answered, and how many are still unanswered. From here you can also tap "Submit Exam" when you are ready to finish.
Submitting Your Session
When you reach the last question, the Next button changes to Submit. You can also submit at any time by:
- Tapping the numbered grid button and selecting Submit Exam
- In Exam Mode, when time runs out (it submits automatically)
Before submitting, a confirmation box will appear showing you how many questions you answered and how many you left blank. You can either go back to answer more or confirm submission.
Your Results
After submitting, the Results Screen appears. Here you will see:
- Your score as a percentage shown in a circular chart
- Number of correct answers (in green)
- Number of wrong answers (in red)
- Time taken to complete the session
- A performance message — Excellent, Good, Fair, or Keep Going — depending on your score
Reviewing Your Answers
Tap "Review Answers" to expand a full list of every question, what you answered, what the correct answer was, and the explanation. This is the most important part — studying your mistakes is how you improve.
When you are done, you can either:
- Tap "Try Again" to redo the same material
- Tap "Main Menu" to go back and choose a different course
Performance History
Tap History from the main menu to see a record of all your past practice sessions. You will see:
- Total Sessions — how many times you have practised
- Average Score — your overall performance across all sessions
- Best Score — your highest score ever.
How to track your NMCN practice performance.
Below the summary is a detailed list of every session, showing the course name, date, time taken, and your score. This helps you track your progress over time and identify which courses need more attention.
To delete all history records, scroll to the bottom and tap "Clear All History".
Favourites
Tap Favourites from the main menu to see all the questions you saved during your practice sessions. Each saved question shows:
- The course it came from
- The date you saved it
- All four answer options, with the correct one highlighted in green
- The explanation
This is perfect for creating your own personal revision list of tricky questions. You can remove individual questions by tapping the bin icon, or clear all favourites at once using the "Clear All" button.
Offline Downloads
Tap Downloads from the main menu to save course materials directly to your device. This is useful when:
- Your internet connection is slow or unreliable
- You want to practise without using data
- You are in an area with poor network coverage
How to Download
- Tap Downloads from the main menu
- Find your course category and tap on it to expand it
- Tap "Download All" to save all materials in that category to your device
- A green tick and the number of questions saved will appear when the download is complete.
Downloaded materials are stored for up to one year on your device. After downloading, you can practise those courses even with no internet connection at all.
To remove a downloaded course and free up space, tap the bin icon next to it.
How the App Stays Updated
Every time you open the app, it quietly checks in the background to see if any new courses or materials have been added. You do not need to do anything — it happens automatically.
- If new materials are found, the course list updates on its own and a small notification will appear at the bottom of the screen saying "Course list updated — new materials available"
- If there is no internet connection, the app simply loads your previously saved data and you can continue practising as normal
- Nothing is ever lost — your history, favourites, and downloads are all saved safely on your device

Tips for Getting the Best Results
Practise in Exam Mode regularly. Study Mode is great for learning, but Exam Mode builds the mental stamina and time management you will need on the real day.
Do not skip the explanations. Whether you got a question right or wrong, read the explanation. Understanding why an answer is correct is more valuable than just knowing which letter to pick.
Use Shuffle. Once you are familiar with a topic, turn on both shuffle settings. This prevents you from memorising answer patterns and forces you to actually think through each question.
Download your courses. If your internet connection is unreliable, download your materials ahead of time so you can practise anywhere, anytime.
Check your History regularly. Your average score tells the truth. If a particular subject is pulling your average down, focus more sessions there.
Save tricky questions. Whenever a question catches you off guard or teaches you something new, save it to Favourites. Review your Favourites list a few days before the exam as a final revision.
Start early. The more sessions you complete over time, the more comfortable and confident you will feel walking into the exam hall.
