The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has announced Friday, November 28, 2025, as the date for its 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony for newly admitted freshmen.

According to an internal memorandum from the Acting Director of Academic Affairs addressed to all faculty officers, the ceremony will commence at 10:00am at the University Convocation Arena, Main Campus, Nwaniba Road, Uyo.
Key Requirements for Matriculating Students
The university has outlined several important requirements for students participating in the ceremony:
Payment of Matriculation Gown Fee: All matriculating students must present evidence of payment of ₦10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira) for the cost of hiring their matriculation gown. Payment should be made online through the University of Uyo Portal at uniuyo.edu.ng/eportals, under the eBursary section by selecting "Collect student category, then Matriculation Gown."
Registration and Documentation: Matriculation registers are being prepared for all matriculating students, with lists to be displayed in faculties to enable students to cross-check their names. Academic robes will be collected from stores for issuance to eligible students.
Matriculation Pledge: All matriculating students will be required to sign and hand over their matriculation pledge during the ceremony, with registers to be signed at Faculty Offices immediately after the event.
Important Deadline
Faculty officers have been directed to return signed matriculation registers to the Administrative Officer on or before Friday, December 5, 2025.
The university has warned that students who fail to sign the matriculation register will invalidate their admission, making attendance at the ceremony mandatory for all freshmen.
