Sometimes you don't feel like walking to the school microfinance Bank, your bank or even meeting any of the cafe operators around the campus. You can pay your school fees successfully online with just your phone.

This guide separates the process for new students and returning students because the steps are different as you will see below
FOR NEW STUDENTS (100 LEVEL & DIRECT ENTRY)
Before You Start
New students must first complete registration and get their Authority to Pay document before paying fees. You also need your admission portal login details (the ones you used during admission process).
Step 1: Get Your Authority to Pay
First thing you need to do is get your Authority to Pay document. This document shows you've been admitted and gives you permission to pay fees.
- Login to your admission portal (not the student portal yet)
- Look for "Print Authority to Pay" or similar option
- Download and print this document
- Keep it safe because you'll need it multiple times
Step 2: Visit the Student Portal
Now go to students.uniuyo.edu.ng
If you're a new student, you might need to create an account first if you have not, but I believe all new students have account. Look for "Register" or "Create Account" button. Use your admission details to register.
After registration or if you already have account, login with your registration number and password.
Step 3: Go to Fee Management Section
This is important for new students. Don't just click any payment button you see.
- On your dashboard, look for "Fee Management" section
- Click on it to open the fee management page
- You'll see different sessions listed there
Step 4: Select the Correct Session - 2025/2026
This is where many new students make mistakes. Make sure you select 2025/2026 academic session. Don't select old sessions by mistake.
After selecting 2025/2026:
- Choose your level (100 Level or Direct Entry)
- Select your faculty correctly
- Pick your department
- Double check everything before continuing
Step 5: Check Your Fee Amount
The portal will show you how much to pay. For 2025/2026 session, note that fees increased by 10-17% from last year.
Current Fee Ranges for New Students:
- Arts & Education departments: ₦95,000 - ₦115,000
- Science programs: ₦107,000 - ₦115,000
- Engineering: ₦115,000 - ₦125,000
- Law: Around ₦137,000
- Pharmacy & Clinical Science: ₦125,000 - ₦137,000
Your exact amount depends on your specific department. The portal shows the exact figure for your course.
Step 6: Generate Your Invoice/RRR
Click "Generate Invoice" button. The system creates your payment invoice with an RRR code (Remita Retrieval Reference). Write down this RRR code or screenshot it.
Step 7: Make Payment - Choose Your Method
METHOD 1: Pay Online Through Portal
- Click "Pay Now" on the invoice page
- Enter your debit card details
- Complete the payment with OTP sent to your phone
- Wait for confirmation message
METHOD 2: Pay at UNIUYO Microfinance Bank
This is a special option for UNIUYO students. You can go directly to the school's microfinance bank on campus.
- Take your RRR code to UNIUYO Microfinance Bank
- You can also take your printed Authority to Pay document
- Tell the bank staff you want to pay school fees
- Give them your RRR code
- Pay cash or use POS at the bank
- Collect your bank teller/receipt
Benefits of using the Microfinance Bank:
- You can pay with cash if you don't have ATM card
- Direct transaction, no network issues like online payment
- You get immediate confirmation
- Staff are familiar with student payments
- Located on campus, easy to access
You can also pay at any commercial bank (GTBank, First Bank, Access, etc.) with your RRR code if you can't get to the Microfinance Bank.
Step 8: Confirm Payment on Portal
After paying (whichever method you used), go back to the student portal.
- Login again
- Go back to Fee Management section
- Look for "Payment Status" or "Confirm Payment"
- The system should show your payment is successful
If you paid at the bank, sometimes it takes 30 minutes to 2 hours for the payment to reflect. Be patient.
Step 9: Print All Important Documents
Once payment is confirmed:
- Print your School Fees Receipt
- Print your Authority to Pay (if you haven't)
- Print Student Class Admit Card
- Print any other clearance documents the portal generates
Save soft copies on your phone too. You need these papers for departmental clearance and course registration.
Step 10: Register Your Courses
Now you can register courses:
- Go to "Course Registration" section
- Select your 100 Level courses
- Submit and print your course form
FOR RETURNING STUDENTS (200L, 300L, 400L, 500L, 600L)
The process is simpler for returning students because you already know the portal and don't need Authority to Pay document.
Step 1: Login to Student Portal
Go to students.uniuyo.edu.ng and login with your matric number and password.
If you forgot password, use the "forgot password" option to reset it.
Step 2: Navigate to Fee Payment
On your dashboard, you'll see options like:
- "Pay School Fees"
- "Fee Management"
- "Generate Invoice"
Click on the fee payment option.
Step 3: Select Your Current Details
The portal asks you to confirm:
- Current session: 2025/2026
- Your current level (200L, 300L, 400L, etc.)
- Your faculty
- Your department
Make sure everything is correct.
Step 4: Check Your Fee Amount
Portal shows how much you're paying. Remember fees increased by 10-17% this session.
Current Ranges for Returning Students:
- Arts & Education: ₦99,000 - ₦110,000
- Sciences: ₦105,000 - ₦115,000
- Engineering: ₦110,000 - ₦122,000
- Law: Around ₦127,000
- Pharmacy: ₦121,000 - ₦135,000
Exact amount depends on your level and department.
Step 5: Generate RRR Code
Click to generate your invoice. You get an RRR code. Save this code.
Step 6: Make Your Payment
METHOD 1: Online Payment Through Portal
- Click "Pay Now"
- Enter card details
- Verify with OTP
- Wait for success message
- Download your payment receipt
- Visit any Cafe and print it, also make a photocopy
METHOD 2: Visit UNIUYO Microfinance Bank (perm site)
Same as new students, you can go to the school's Microfinance Bank:
- Take your RRR code to UNIUYO Microfinance Bank on campus
- Tell them you're paying school fees
- Give them your RRR code
- Pay with cash or POS
- Collect receipt
You can also use any commercial bank if that's more convenient for you.
Step 7: Confirm Payment
Return to portal and check payment status. Your payment should reflect within few minutes if you paid online, or within 2 hours if you paid at bank.
Step 8: Print Documents
Print your:
- Fee receipt
- Admit card
- Any clearance documents
Step 9: Course Registration
Register your courses for the current semester in the course registration section.
Important Information for All Students
Payment Deadline
Pay before the deadline to avoid late payment penalty of ₦5,000 or more. Check your academic calendar for exact dates.
About the Fee Increase
We just noticed UNIUYO increased fees by 10-17% for 2025/2026 session. For example, Law students now pay around ₦137,000 compared to ₦112,000 last session. This affects all departments and levels.

Acceptance Fee for New Students
The ₦30,000 acceptance fee is already included in the total fees shown on your portal. You don't pay it separately.
No Installment Payment
UNIUYO requires full payment at once. They don't accept installment payments. You must have the complete amount ready.
Same Fees for Everyone
Both indigenes and non-indigenes of Akwa Ibom pay the same fees. No extra charges based on state of origin.
Common Problems and Solutions
Problem: Portal is very slow
Solution: Try early morning (6am-8am) or late night (10pm-12am). Less students online at these times.
Problem: Payment failed but money left my account
Solution: Wait 24-48 hours. Money usually returns automatically. If not, contact your bank with payment reference.
Problem: Paid at bank but portal not showing it
Solution: Wait 2-4 hours. Bank payments take time to reflect. If still nothing after 24 hours, go to bursary with your bank teller.
Problem: Can't generate RRR code
Solution: Make sure you selected correct session (2025/2026) and your details are correct. Clear browser cache and try again.
Problem: Wrong amount showing on portal
Solution: Contact bursary department immediately with your matric number and department details.
Problem: Lost my payment receipt
Solution: Login to portal and go to payment history. You can reprint old receipts from there.
